With stunning scenery and seemingly endless stretches of sand dunes, Glamis is a truly unique California destination. Famous for its extreme desert beauty and opportunities to explore the dunes on your ATV, Glamis is perfect for families and groups of friends who are looking to plan the ultimate Airstream camping trip.
Situated east of the Imperial Valley in the southern most region of California, the dunes are bordered to the west by the Coachella Canal, fertile agricultural lands to the north, and Mexico to the south.
The Glamis Dunes are made up of three areas. Mammoth Wash is the northernmost and most isolated area, as it’s only accessible by Off-Highway Vehicles (OHV). Below Mammoth Wash, North Algodones Dunes Wilderness is closed to all mechanized vehicles and offers endless miles of quiet solitude that can only be accessed by foot or horseback. The southernmost boundary of Glamis begins at Highway 78. South of the highway, visitors can find the largest and most commonly visited dunes, which (with some restrictions) can be traveled south to the Mexican border.
With no hotel options directly in the dune region, camping in Glamis is the way to go. Visitors have many options for Airstream camping in Glamis Dunes. From full-service campgrounds to rugged spots, your Silver Bullet Airstream rental will add a touch of comfort and luxury to your Glamis camping trip.
